More About the Product

We know that children grow quickly. Clothes, bikes, and shoes can become too small quickly. We’ve taken this into account, so the children's bed will last for many years to come.

This crib can therefore be transformed into a junior bed when the baby grows into a toddler.

The crib grows with the child. Several beds are combined into one. The crib is essential in the child’s early years. It can be adjusted to be placed high in the crib so that the parents’ backs are spared as much as possible when the child needs to be lifted in and out of bed multiple times during those early years. Later, when the child can stand, crawl, and walk, the bed is adjusted to be placed at the bottom of the crib.

The rails now prevent the child from leaving the bed during naps or nighttime sleep. Parents can sleep soundly, knowing that the child cannot leave the bed.

However, if necessary, it’s possible to remove 5 rails from each side of the bed if the child wishes to crawl in and out of bed.

The rails are completely removed once the child is older and no longer needs them. Now, the child has a junior bed that can be used for many more years. The child gains more freedom, as they can now get out of bed on their own.

When the bed is no longer big enough, it can easily be used as a daybed in the home. The height of the bed can be adjusted to three different levels. The lowest height from the floor is 17 cm. The second-highest setting is 30 cm. The highest setting is 43 cm.

Cleaning & Care

Simply wipe clean with a damp cloth and then dry with a soft lint-free duster.
Do regulate the temperature and humidity in your bedroom, as wood will expand in an environment that's too warm or too humid.
Don’t use abrasive cleaners.

Safety Approved

Our LIFETIME Kidsrooms Original basic bed and other bed combinations comply with the EU requirements for children’s beds and are tested and approved by the German certification body TÜV SÜD. TÜV SÜD only provides certification for factories that comply with the highest production and safety standards. They follow strict test procedures and test our beds for both safety and our materials for health specifications.

Slatted Base Guide

All our beds are sold including slatted bases. It's up to you to choose which weight class you want for your bed.

Max. recommended distributed weight:

Standard slats: 150 kg.

Deluxe slatted base: 200 kg.

Premium slats: 200 kg.

Will a deluxe slatted base fit a bed that is manufactured to use a standard slatted base?

Before 2023 you needed to order new bedsides if you wanted to switch from a deluxe to a standard slatted base. Since 2023 we have changed the bedside so that they can be used for both options. Depending on the time of your purchase you might have to order new bedsides for this change.

How much weight can a bed support - and can an adult sleep in it?

It is the slatted base that defines the max. weight limit. For beds with a standard slats, we recommend a maximum weight of 150 kg. For beds with a Deluxe or Premium slats, we recommend that the maximum weight does not exceed 200 kg.

Lacquer Info

White
The white lacquered children's furniture from LIFETIME Kidsroom is made of solid pine wood without knots to avoid the typical discolouration and unevenness caused by knots. The surface is treated with environmentally friendly water-based white furniture lacquer and hardened with UV light, which ensures an easy-to-clean and resistant surface. For our white lacquered articles, we use MDF for fronts, fillings, doors and drawer fronts. Due to the use of different materials, there may be slight differences in colour and pattern.

Whitewash
For our children's beds in the colour whitewash, we use solid pine wood with knots for all parts of the bed. This emphasises the natural look of the furniture and the wooden pattern. The surface of the wood is treated with water-based lacquer, which contains fewer white pigments than the white lacquer, allowing the natural wood pattern to shine through. The whitewash lacquer leaves some open pores on the surface, which can lead to normal light discolouration over time. The Whitewash colour can be refreshed with our Whitewash refresher set Art. 500.

Q & A

Where is LIFETIME Kidsrooms furniture produced?

LIFETIME Kidsrooms Original wooden furniture is produced in our production facilities in the Danish village Sønder Sejerslev in Southwest Denmark. Our Baby and Cool Kids collections are produced in Denmark by a Danish subcontractor. We have no own competences for producing textiles or accessories, so we collaborate with suppliers that are experts in their field and can help us with that. Collections in collaboration with Lorena Canals are produced in India. Together with our suppliers of accessories we make sure that all LIFETIME articles comply with our strict requirements and can be certified.

What wood is used for LIFETIME Kidsrooms furniture?

Our primary wood type is pine. Our wooden materials come from selected FSC-certified forest plantations in Northern Europe. The wood is delivered from Sweden, Finland, and the Baltic countries. We use suppliers with FSC certified wood, to make sure that the forests are maintained responsibly. By using FSC quality wood we make sure that enough trees are planted for the trees that are cut down and that there will be resources available for future generations.

In the North, where the climate becomes challenging and cold during winter, pine trees grow slower than in forest areas with warmer temperatures. As a result, trees take longer to grow up as it is challenging to grow in the harsh and cold climate. This makes the pine wood both harder and more durable than fast-growing pine from warmer forests. Our wood is given the time it needs to achieve the right conditions without the addition of artificial growing agents. We set strict requirements, because we wish to use the absolute best wood for our premium furniture production.
