How high may a mattress on a LIFETIME Kidsrooms bed be
On all LIFETIME Kidsrooms bunk beds, we have marked the recommended height for mattresses according to the European safety standards to produce children's furniture.
The marking indicates that the mattress should not be higher. The maximum mattress height is indicated on the ladder of the high bed. All LIFETIME mattresses fit in the beds and comply with European safety standards. We recommend that no mattress exceeds a height of 16 cm. If you wish to use a higher mattress you can get an additional safety guard that increases the height of the bedsides with 16 cm.
How much weight can a bed support
All LIFETIME beds are tested with slatted bases or slats and are therefore only offered in this way. You can decide for yourself which quality best meets your own needs.
Standard slatted base (16 slats)
Max. recommended distributed weight: 150 kg.
16 moulded and laminated birch or beech slats that are screwed directly into the sides of the bed.

Premium slatted base (23 slats)
Max. recommended distributed weight: 200 kg.
23 moulded and laminated birch or beech slats that are screwed directly into the sides of the bed. Strong and reliable support, especially when parents would like to lie in the bed as well.

Deluxe slatted base (28 slats)
Max. recommended distributed weight: 200 kg.
A frame with 28 slats that are mounted in plastic caps on the sides and can move flexibly together.

How much weight can a bed carry – and can an adult sleep in it?
The maximum weight limit is determined by the slatted base. For beds with standard slats, we recommend a maximum weight of 150 kg. For beds with a deluxe slatted base or premium slats, we recommend that the maximum distributed weight of 200 kg is not exceeded. This ensures that the slats also have a long lifespan.
What is the difference between the standard slatted base and the premium slatted base?
Both slatted bases consist of moulded and laminated birch or beech slats that are screwed directly into the sides of the bed. The difference is that the standard version has 16 slats, while the premium version has 23 slats, which is why the premium slatted base can support more weight than the standard one and is ideal for floor beds.
Standard slatted base: 150 kg.
Premium slatted base: 200 kg.
Does a deluxe slatted base fit into a bed that was made for use with standard slats?
Before 2023, new bed sides had to be ordered if you wanted to switch from a deluxe to a standard slatted base. Since 2023, we have changed the bed sides so that they can be used for both options. Depending on when the bed was purchased, new bed sides may or may not be required.
Do you use environmentally and health-friendly lacquer
Our coatings in all colours are water-based and friendly to both the environment, and our employees who work with it daily.
They are tested according to EU requirements and are saliva-proof for children. As we produce LIFETIME furniture on demand, our furniture is not stored in large warehouses for a long time but is produced rather shortly before being shipped out.
Normally, new furniture will have an initial smell from the natural wood and the coating, which will fade away with time.
